Len DeLessio Professional Biography
Len DeLessio is a professional Photographer, Filmmaker and Educator. Received a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and has been a faculty member there since the Fall of 1985.
He opened his first Professional Photo Studio in New York City in July of 1975. Career specialties have included Performance Photography, Portraiture, Fashion, Photo-Illustration, Special Effects, Nature Photography, and Still-Life for major magazines, corporations, advertising agencies, and Stock Imagery. Len continues to create visual imagery, contributing Creative Stills and Video to a number of stock agencies.
Len’s photographs have been published and exhibited worldwide, appearing in a wide variety of media. Selections of his vintage images are in a special collection at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. As the first official photographer for the band name KISS, the group nicknamed him “The Shutterthug”.
